Hosting a dinner party can be daunting. At Fable we created a guide to doing dinner parties the Fable way, complete with recipes and how-tos, and everything you need to serve each course over a four-week period - three courses, tips, tunes, and a delightful cocktail to kick off an evening.

David Gunawam
Award-winning chef and respected figure in Vancouver, BC’s farm-to-table dining scene, David brought to life well-loved restaurants Farmer’s Apprentice and neighbouring Grapes & Soda. In 2019, he opened Ubuntu Canteen, a neighbourhood cafe-restaurant with an ethos rooted in community, sustainability, and regenerative practices. The menu evolves weekly to accommodate the season’s freshest local and organic ingredients.
For the Dinner Party, David started the meal with a Plum Blossom Spritz and ended with a Halibut with Whey Sauce & Pickled Celeriac.

Drew Dunford
Project manager by day, and one half of the culinary duo behind GTO Burger, a Vancouver-based pop-up burger concept, Drew has a steady hand in the kitchen—whether it’s at the flat top or hosting friends for elaborate meals at home.
We teamed up with Drew for the first course, a Wild Mushroom Soup.

Mila Franovic
Stylist and casting director behind Legends Cafe, a Vancouver-based talent agency, Mila has been cultivating a close relationship to food since childhood. She’s often throwing dinner parties where local, seasonal ingredients take center stage—many of which she grows herself—and everything is artfully plated. We teamed up with Mila to add brightness and texture to your dinner party table with two simple, beautiful salads - Confetti Salad & Family Tomato Salad.
